We welcomed Surrey East County Commissioner Beverly Heywood Jones to the campsite on Sunday to present Elaine Edwards and Tracey Pettit with well deserved Good Service awards.

Elaine has been part of the campsite committee since 2007 and was chair for many years. She has been instrumental in the vision of the lodge from the start and stepped in twice when two previous chairs stood down. She was then officially made chair in 2017 until 2022. She is now on the fundraising committee continuing to help the campsite committee raise money to make the lodge and campsite even better.

Tracey Pettit took over as Little Acres Campsite Chair in 2022 and has worked tirelessly since then to get the Lodge open. She has already achieved her promise to complete the lodge ready for use and is now working on the next part of the project to develop and deliver an innovative plan to ensure that the campsite is self-sufficient into the future. She has also been on the campsite committee since 2007 and has been campsite bookings secretary and project manager for the lodge.

Both Elaine and Tracey’s dedication to the campsite is very much appreciated and we are delighted they have each received this hard earned award and recognition for their work.
